Abstract | The core-shell structured Ag2CO3@TiO2 composite was fabricated through a simple precipitation method by coating amorphous TiO2 on the Ag2CO3 surface. The morphologies, structure and optical property were characterized by field emission-scanning electron microscopy 3(SEM), high resolution-transmission electron microscopy, X-ray diffraction, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, Ultraviolet-visible spectroscopy and photoluminescence spectra. The photocatalytic activity was investigated by the degradation of rhodamine B under visible light irradiation. Results show that the activity of Ag2CO3@TiO2 photocatalyst is much higher than that of pure Ag2CO3. It was revealed that the amorphous TiO2 shell layer effectively promotes the separation rate of photogenerated electron-hole pairs to inhibit the photocorrosion of Ag2CO3. Moreover, the core-shell structural Ag2CO3@TiO2 photocatalyst showed high photostability for the degradation of rhodamine B. (C) 2019 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved. |
